A note on custom/commission work

I don’t do any true custom work, the closest I have is my ‘finished in your size’ format of made to order work.

FINISHED IN YOUR SIZE

‘Finished in your size’ is my made to order format. I design a setting around a particular stone, make the setting and photograph it atop a ring to give a visual of how the final piece will look. This then goes up for sale and a ring size is required to add to cart. Once you have purchased the ring I finish the piece by soldering the band in your ring size to the bezel, setting the stone and polishing.

Ring sizes A to Z+4 are available.

Production time is 2 weeks for the ring to be completed, and once finished you will receive an email with tracking number to let you know it has shipped.

Please note that the rings are only sold as rings, no pendants or earrings are made under this format and no design changes can be made unless discussed with me prior to purchase. The piece will look slightly different once finished to the unfinished photos.

If anything happens in the final stages of making your ring, I will contact you via email and offer a full refund or choice of a replacement stone where possible.

Hand found, high carat gold

The beautiful, bright yellow gold that I use as the ‘dot’ accents on some of my silver pieces comes from nugget form. Each gold nugget has been found with a metal detector and dug by hand out of a small hole with respect for the environment. The reason this gold looks so ‘gold’ is that it is very high carat, likely around 22ct (I can’t say exactly without testing each individual nugget). I love making connections with prospectors from around Western Australia, and they enjoy that their gold that they lovingly dug up by hand (and shouted to their mate- “hey I got one!!”) is being worn around the world.

It is important to note the difference between this gold and the solid 9ct yellow gold I use to fabricate my all-gold pieces, this is still special solid gold, but is not hand found nor as high carat.

Repairs

All of my pieces are made with care and designed around the need to be able to be sturdy enough for every day wear, within reason of course- please refer to my care page for more info on how to best care for your piece. If ever your jewellery piece from me is in need of some TLC, please get in touch via email and attach some photos so I can assess your piece.

Resizing

I do not offer resizing for any of my work, so please make sure you are confident in your size before purchasing, and if you need help of have any questions I am more than happy to help, just get in touch.

There are reusable ring sizers available on my website.

Some commercial jewellers are able to resize rings with opals set in them, by either using a laser welder to solder the band without risking heating the stone, or by heat protecting the stone before soldering. This is not something all jewellers will have the skill/equipment to do, I generally recommend not resizing jewellery with opal set in it due to the risk involved but it is up to the customer.

My collections, and when they become available

I update my website with the pieces I have made each week at 2pm AWST (Perth time) every Sunday. Every week’s collection varies depending on what I felt inspired to make any given week. All pricing is in AUD.

The opals I use

Most of the opal I use is boulder opal from Queensland, and all of the stones I use are solid and cut by hand by my wonderful suppliers who are artists in their own right.

Returns

Returns or refunds are not accepted due to change of mind, please choose your jewellery carefully and don’t hesitate to contact me prior to purchasing if you have any questions. All of my jewellery is made with the utmost care and attention, but if ever you find there is a manufacturing fault then I will happily take the piece back and offer a full refund within 6 months of purchase date.
