HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR SPARKLY NEW OPAL
Everyday Wear
All of the opals I use are solid Australian opals, this means you don’t need to be too precious with them and they’re suitable for every day wear.
They are totally fine getting wet like swimming in the ocean, showering and washing the dishes, however it is a good idea to avoid harsh chemicals such as chlorinated pools, cleaning products or repeated hand sanitiser use.
No Hard Knocks
Opals are relatively soft stones compared with things like rubies/sapphires/diamonds so they can crack or chip if they are subjected to any hard knocks.
For this reason I recommend taking your opal jewellery off for activities that might cause your opal to get a knock such as playing sport and gardening.
Cleaning
You can clean your jewellery by using a toothbrush and dishwashing detergent and gently scrubbing with warm (not hot/boiling) water. The metal can be polished with a silver/gold polishing cloth.
End Note
I only use solid (not plated or filled) metal, so there is no risk of the outer layer of metal rubbing off/causing your fingers to go green or anything like that.
Enjoy your jewellery and please feel free to email me if you have any questions about your piece.
